Yr-8 - Summer Challenge with the 11th Brigade

The Year 8 Army Summer Challenge was a roaring success!
On 3rd July, the 11th Infantry Brigade from Aldershot joined our Yr8 students out on the field and were ready to challenge them! The students took part in a variety of activities and faced a number of challenges that continually tested their cognitive skills with puzzles and problem-solving being the theme that ran throughout all of the physical activities.
The day was carefully designed to improve students’ self-esteem, confidence, communication skills and ability to work with others in ways that are not always possible within the classroom. All of these skills and attributes will help the students throughout the school curriculum but also promote their personal development and well-being.
The team from 11th Brigade have been working closely with our school for more than four years and their planning and execution of this event was meticulous as always.
We are confident the skills from today’s activities will aid the Yr8 students’ personal and academic development and it was also great fun!
