A donation to the Royal British Legion

We were delighted to welcome representatives from the Sandwich branch of the Royal British Legion to STS on Monday. Paul Graeme MBE and ClivePeter 'Hank' Hancocks met with an enthusiastic group of our students to discuss their battlefields visit earlier in the year. Our visitors also shared some fascinating nuggets of local knowledge and it's connections to World Wars One and Two.

The students then presented our visitors with a cheque for £484 as a donation to the Legion. The money was left over from the battlefields visits in June and July. Our parents were unanimous in their desire that rather than receiving a partial refund, the surplus funds should go to the RBL.

We would like to extend our thanks to the Sandwich branch of the RBL for visiting but we are also are very grateful to our parents for this act of generosity.
