Green Careers Week
BackThis week is Green Careers Week! (4th-12th November).
This is an exciting event that raises aspiration, supports diversity, challenges stereotypes, and promotes real opportunities for young people to have a career that will genuinely make a difference. A green career can be any job, role or occupation that contributes to preserving or restoring the environment and our planet. It can be any industry, not just those seen as ‘green.’ Green skills are abilities, attributes, values, attitudes, knowledge, and technical skills needed to adapt services, processes and procedures to support climate change.
All Year 7-11 students are participating in careers sessions in tutor times to raise their awareness of green careers and pathways into them. Additionally, this week’s 6th form careers bulletin is also focused on green careers!
If you would like to learn more about these careers and how to support your child, please see this Green careers parent guide.
